Autzen Stadium Reminders @ NWAPA Championships

Gas powered vehicles will be allowed on the field. HOWEVER vehicles must be in excellent working condition and must not drip gasoline or oil on the field. UO and NWAPA staff reserve the right to prohibit vehicles observed to be in poor condition on the field.

Gas and propane powered generators MUST NOT be placed directly on the field. Plan to place generators on a protective surface.

The tunnel at Autzen cannot accommodate props that are taller than 6 feet 9 inches and/or wider than 10 feet. Props larger than that will have to be brought in pieces and assembled on the field during your interval time.

Bands will be allowed to stage into side 1 (audience left). Interval time will begin when any member, props or equipment crosses 30 yard line side 1, or at your scheduled time – whichever comes first. 30 yard line shall extend wall to wall so that crossing the line off field back will trigger interval start.

Front ensemble (pit) will be allowed to begin setup off field outside front sideline without triggering interval time start. Pit equipment that is staged on the field will trigger interval time as noted above.

Interval time will stop when all members, equipment and props are in side 2 and making forward progress towards the side 2 exit.

Due to the short time between Preliminary Awards and Finals, bands who are scheduled to perform in Finals schedule slots 15 – 10 may experience a challenge in assembling at their designated warm-up areas at their scheduled warm-up times. To help mitigate this, we will contact directors of bands scheduled to perform in Finals schedule slots 15 – 10 PRIOR TO PRELIMINARY AWARDS via email and phone number we have on file as “day of event” phone number to provide advance notice of their finals performance time so that they may, at their discretion, make preparations to arrive at their designated warm up area on time.

Please contact Jeff Mitchell – contest_coord@nwapa.net – with any questions or concerns.
