The NWAPA is looking for volunteers to be a part of the NWAPA Winter Percussion Showcase.

As 2024 begins, as discussed in our last membership meeting the NWAPA Competition/ Fall Committee will begin to meet. We invite you to be a part of our Competition/ Fall Committee as we discuss topics to further the mission of our organization. You are invited to join us on January 7th at 4pm. The NWAPA will be holding its annual 2024 Membership meeting on Monday May 20th at 6:00 pm. This meeting will be held online. Topics include 2024 winter season wrap-up, positives to the season as well as areas for improvement. We will also discuss rules proposals, officer elections, Competition Committee findings and recommendations, fall 2024 budget and much more. Please mark your calendars so you will be able to attend. If you would like to be more involved with the circuit and this are done, PLEASE contact someone on the board to let your voice be heard and find out how you can get involved.
The NWAPA will be holding a 2024 winter season wrap-up meeting on Sunday April 28th at 4:00 pm. This meeting will be held online. Topics include season wrap-up, positives to the season as well as areas for improvement. We will also discuss potential schedule changes to have championships later after typical spring breaks and WGI championships. More details to come as the 2024 season progresses.
NWAPA December General Membership Meeting will take place on Sunday Dec 10 @ 6:00PM virtually. Virtual Meeting information will be posted and distributed closer to the meeting date.

The Fall Contest Committee will discuss topics such as Championships Format, Judges Scoring Guides, Rules and Policy, and other pertinent topics related to NWAPA Fall Marching Band season. Recommendations and issues may be brought to General Membership and NWAPA Board as appropriate. The committee will meet periodically throughout the academic year.
On Sunday Dec 10 (6:00PM) the general membership will vote on rules and policy that have been submitted for consideration.
Rules and policy proposals (if passed) should amend one of the NWAPA’s FALL operational or governing documents. (Fall Member Handbook, Fall Show Sponsor Handbook, Constitution and Bylaws)
Initiatives for the purchase of equipment, educational events (outside of NWAPA contest process and rules), setting membership fees, budget items, or other mandates of direct usage of general funds are NOT proposals. Such items are the purview of elected officers who meet regularly to create budgets, set fees, manage staff, and execute program on behalf of the general membership. NWAPA Board members will solicit feedback throughout their term from the membership on the above.
Initiatives for contest rules, process, governance, and the like ARE proposals. When a proposal is passed, it is a mandate from the membership that must be executed by the NWAPA elected officers and staff. The NWAPA Board may also initiate proposals.
Proposals intended to be considered are due Friday Dec 1st, 2023.
Because they are binding and have potential for altering NWAPA mission and operations, submitted proposals will be vetted by a committee chaired by the NWAPA President. A slate of complete and examined proposals will be presented to the membership for discussion and vote.
The NWAPA President may determine, at his/her discretion, that a submitted proposal will not be presented to the membership. Such proposals may be referred to committee for additional vetting and discussion, tabled for a future voting cycle, or removed from the slate altogether because they do not meet the above criteria.

Voting will take place virtually on Dec 10th 6:00 PM at the Winter General Membership Meeting. Each director of a FALL member unit (or their proxy) in good standing is eligible to cast a vote.
